This novel is a fictional account of Ernest Hemingway's life, told from the perspective of his first wife, Hadley Richardson. Hadley is a naive 28-year old when she meets Hemingway, an ambitious but moody 20-year old. The novel takes us to Paris in the 1920s, where the couple befriends other writers such as Fitzgerald, Dos Passos, Pound, and others. The Paris Wife inspired me to look again at other writers mentioned in its wonderfully written pages.
