About Tome on the Range

Tome on the Range is a fiercely independent, general interest bookstore located at 158 Bridge Street, in the heart of the historic Plaza-Bridge Street commercial district of Las Vegas, New Mexico. 

At Tome we believe that an independent bookstore is the heart of a community, and that a literate community is a vibrant community. To that end, Tome sponsors events for children and adults, including author appearances, weekly story time (kids 3-6), and book clubs. Tome also offers discounts to teachers and high school and college students during the school term with current IDs, and to public institutions with valid purchase orders. 

Tome's greatest resource is our diverse, friendly, and knowledgeable staff of booksellers. At Tome we love to put the perfect book into our customers’ hands, new or used.  If you can’t find what you’re looking for on our shelves, we’ll happily special order it for you. We provide out of print searches, too.

The children’s department at Tome is beyond compare.  In addition to an outstanding choice of books, you’ll find educational games, puzzles, puppets, arts & crafts, gifts for newborns, interactive toys, globes…and even more! We are particularly proud of our regional title selection for both children and adults.  Plus we stock the latest fiction, biography, bestsellers, literary history, mystery, and most other categories with hand-picked inventory that reflects the interests and quirks of our customers and our staff!

Our selection of sidelines makes it easy to find a gift for the non-reader, and includes journals, pens, paperweights, business card holders, stationery, magnets…you get the idea.  And we have the best selection of greeting cards hands down!

Tome on the Range has been a part of the Las Vegas independent business community since May 1996. We are a proud and vocal member of Las Vegas First Independent Business Alliance, the American Booksellers Association, and the Mountains and Plains Independent Booksellers Association.
